Iranian wrestlers clinch 4 medals in Bulgaria

TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (MNA) – The Iranian wrestling squad managed to bag four medals on the second day of the 2016 Dan Kolov & Nikola Petrov tournament underway in Bulgaria.

Iran’s freestyler in the 57kg weight category, Younes Emami was downed by the Canadian rival dropping out of the tournament.

In the same category, Kheirollah Ghahramani refused to play against the Zionist wrestler.

Ali mujerloo won the title at the 86kg weight category while Arashk Mohebi conceded a defeat against the Bulgarian athlete.

Amir Reza Amiri bagged the bronze medal of the tournament at the 125kg.

National Greco-Roman wrestlers at 80kg category, Mahdi Ebrahimi and Keyvan Rezaei received gold, bronze medals, respectively.

Competing at the 98kg, Iranian Greco-Roman athlete Amir Hossein Hosseini snatched the bronze medal while Mohammad Biranvand was downed by rivals.

The 54th International wrestling tournament dubbed as Dan Kolov & Nikola Petrov is underway in the Bulgarian capital Sofia on January 29-31.
